Wisdom, defeated by terror's hand,
Arms and weapons, sowing discord's seed,
Mankind suffers, without cause or plea,
Standing armed through unending years of strife.
Wars wage on their final throw,
Aiming to avenge, pushing beyond bounds,
Politicians play their ruthless game,
People cry with hollow love.
Brotherhood fades from bad to worse,
Cries of distress fill the air,
Neighbours become reluctant shields,
Mighty nations lean towards litigation.
Peace is fragmented, one must leave to survive,
Everywhere there's a give and take.
We've arrived, twenty-five centuries ahead,
Leaving behind the peace of Buddha, far, far dead.
